Newly elected President of National Association of Itsekiri Graduates, NAIG, Comrade Alero Naomi Tenumah has vowed that her leadership will not tolerate the sale of job slots meant for Itsekiri graduates to non Itsekiris, noting that the issue of unemployment among Itsekiri Youths will be tackled headlong by her administration.
Comrade Alero Tenumah made the declaration Friday April 25 in Warri at the NAIG Secretariat during the inauguration of a new executive to pilot the affairs of the Itsekiri graduates’ body for the next two years.
While pledging that her leadership will embark on detailed research to ascertain the actual number of unemployed Itsekiri graduates, Comrade Tenumah who polled 63 votes to defeat three other candidates after initially serving as President of NAIG in interim capacity, enjoined Itsekiri graduates to enhance their CV via certification so as to brighten their employment opportunities.
She felicitated with the Olu of Warri on the celebration of the monarch’s 27th coronation anniversary and noted that NAIG is not factionalized
Speaking before the inauguration of the newly elected 12- man NAIG executive, Chairman of the Electoral Committee, Festus Etuwewe described the election conducted April 19 as the freest and fairest so far conducted by the association.
According to him, 93 delegates cutting across NAIG branches in Warri, Sapele, Koko, Benin, PortHarcourt and other cities participated in the election, just as he noted that 22 candidates contested for 12 vacant positions.
The seven-member electoral committee which cuts across NAIG branches across the country had comrade Mebije Oritseweyinmi Faith as secretary.

Iwere- Assistant Secretary , Eden Kpenose Prince- Organizing Secretary, Ekpoto E. Thomas- Research Project/Director, Adefemi Sylvester Toritseju –PRO 2, Mebije Oti Wilfred- PRO 3 and Atse Omagbe –Provost.
