An Italian consortium, Folaris Group is in partnershipwith a prominent Nigerian politician, Francis Onabis towards the buildingof a 500million euro ultra modern medical centre in Uromi, Edo state, FreshAngle can authoritatively report.
FreshAngle reliably gathered that the preliminary agreement for themultibillion naira project was signed by Francis Onabis project and theconstruction firm in Rome, Italy Saturday June 18,2011.

The business magnate and presidential aspirant in thejust concluded 2011 general polls in a statement through his media aide,Ayodele Samuel said “the medical centre will be first of its kind in Sub-SaharaAfrica and will compete with anyinternational medical facility in the world.”
He said the goal of the project is to create a center of excellence for tertiary healthcare that “will soon become a nationalhealth project”.   

According to him, when completed the multibillion nairaproject will accommodate over 700 patients, including those with severe medicalchallenges without much cost. In his words, “the structure when completed willaccommodate over 700 patients and will be able to deal with any health problemwithout requiring the use of extra- national structures with enormous cost andtime.”

The Nigerian born Italy based businessman cumpolitician disclosed that the facility which will be constructed in a land massof approximately 230,000 sq. meters will be self sufficient in terms ofenergy requirements, just as he noted that the medical centre would have nonegative environmental impact on the host community and its environs.
