#EndSARS: Kogi Activist calls for General Audit complains of all Nigerians

Against the backdrop of disbandment of the dreaded Special Anti Robbery Squad, SARS, an activist, who is also the Executive Director, Conscience For Human Rights and Conflicts Resolutions, CHRCR, Comrade Idris Abdul Miliki, has called for the General Audit of the complain that lead to the dissolution of SARS in the country.

Miliki, in an interview with Our Kogi State Correspondent in Lokoja on Monday October 12, commended the Inspector General of Police Abubakar Adamu for his courage to disband the discredited police outfit.

The activist who maintained that even as  the Constitution of the Country empowers  the establishment of a Police force which shall protect lives and property of the citizenry,  lamented that the police outfit has systematically deviated from the core mandate.

The activist stated  that  in as much as Section 214 of the Constitution recognised a single police force for the country which shall at all times promote and protect the security of the people , the SARS outfit of the force have consistently eroded the fundamental human rights of the people.

He noted that the public outcry against, the Special Anti Robbery Squad,  an arm of the force has placed moral and constitutional burden on  the leadership of the force under IGP Abubakar Adamu to take urgent measures.

He lauded the leadership of the Nigerian police Force for listening to the yearning and voice of reasons and wisdom of the people,  in the dissolution of SARS.

Miliki, however called on  the IGP, to still take a second look at the reports of the Human Rights training that took place in the year 2016, adding that there is need for the  IGP to extend the current Reorganisation to all sections and units  of the Nigerian police Force.
