NULGE to Tidi: You were neutral during our election
Prince Raymond Emiko, speaking during the visit

The Warri South Local Government Council Chapter of Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees, NULGE, has thanked Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, Dr. Michael Tidi, for his neutrality, during the union’s branch election held March this year, saying that was not the case in some local government councils.

Chairman of NULGE, Warri South Local Government Council Chapter, Prince Raymond Emiko, who made the declaration Tuesday October 13, when he led leaders of the union on a thank-you-solidarity-visit to the Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, Dr. Tidi, averred that the union election, “has not been able to hold”, in a particular local government council in the state, several months after that of Warri South and some other councils held.

Prince Emiko, who praised the Dr. Tidi administration for increasing transportation stipends for staff by 100 percent, making the council working environment more conducive and offsetting medical bills of some staff, appealed to the Warri South Local Government Boss, to assist in refurbishing the union’s bus as well as this year’s end of year bash/send-forth party for retirees, who served the council meritoriously.

Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, Dr. Michael Tidi, who was flanked by his Vice, Chief (Mrs.) Divine Iniovosa and Secretary to Warri South Local Government, Mr. Joseph Uwale Oribioye, tasked the leadership of NULGE in the Council not to lose sight as regards the reason they were employed, adding that his leadership will not tolerate truancy.

While expressing happiness that the segmentation and fragmentation that characterized the union prior to the election were over, Dr. Tidi admonished the new NULGE executive to sustain their unity of purpose.

Dr. Tidi advised the union leadership to support the council management for the period the administration would go “on vacation”, assuring that refurbishing of the union’s bus will be given top priority.

While noting the request for consistency in the payment of monthly transport stipends amid the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Tidi stated that his administration intends to do more in the area of daily environmental sanitation of the Council area.

The Warri South branch Vice Chairman of NULGE; Comrade Rose Edeta, Secretary; Comrade Vivian Igwekpe, Treasurer; Comrade Christian Adakre and Comrade Joyce Majajah; Welfare Officer, were among leaders of the union present during the solidarity visit.
