Dr. Ujiya Abel Adamu, a former bursar with the Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja is dead.
Dr. Ademu, who was the Polytechnic bursar between 2008-2017 passed on after a brief illness on Thursday 15th October, 2020.
It was gathered that the deceased hailed from Ibaji Local Government of the state.
Confirming his demise in a statement he personally signed on Saturday, the Acting Rector, Kogi State Polytechnic, Dr Salisu Ogbo Usman described the late academician as man who left indelible positive marks in the Polytechnic while he served as the institution Bursar in Acting capacity from 8th February, 2006 to 24th January, 2008 and as substantive Bursar from 24th January, 2008 to 24th October, 2017.
The Rector, while commiserating with the kinsmen, associates, the Bursary Department of the Polytechnic, well wishers and the good people of Ibaji Local Government over the unfortunate loss of such a dedicated public servant prayed to God almighty to forgive all the shortcomings of the deceased and grant him eternal rest.
"Indeed, the entire Polytechnic community is in deep shock and sorrow over the sudden demise of such a diligent, simple, intelligent and selfless seasoned accountant who gave his all not just to the Polytechnic, but the service of humanity as a whole.
"While his demise is hard for us to take, we remain consoled by the impressively immortal records of accountability that was the hallmark of his service to the institution.
"It is our prayer that God in His infinite mercy grant his family, friends, well wishers, associates and the entire Polytechnic Community the fortitude to bear the loss" he noted.
