Security agencies get mandate to arrest person(s) responsible for illegal road closure in Warri

Security agencies have been mandated by authorities of Warri South Local Government Council to effect arrest of anyone or group of persons responsible for illegal road closure in Warri, Delta State.

Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, Dr. Michael E. Tidi, who made the disclosure today, Thursday November 26, in a statement entitled, ‘Illegal Road Closure,’ noted that any further act of illegal road closure by any individual, no matter how highly placed without due approval from Warri South Local Government Council, will incur the full wrath of the law.

While stating that security agencies have also been enjoined to open up the roads for the use of other law abiding citizens going about their legitimate businesses, Dr. Tidi explained that the action became necessary, following observations of illegal closure of roads in Warri metropolis and its environs, without authorization from the council, hence constituting serious traffic congestion in the affected area.
