The member representing Warri South Constituency I in Delta State House of Assembly, Dr. Augustine Uroye, on Monday November 30, began process for the creation of jobs and wealth and in his constituency, by splashing over N11million as grant for traders and potential micro investors as well as the training of 12 youths in Pipe and Structural Steel Fitting and Welding and Fabrication.
Addressing an impressive gathering of PDP bigwigs in Delta State and the 120 beneficiaries of the empowerment scheme at Governor’s Annex Warri, Dr. Uroye, disclosed that beneficiaries will get between N50,000.00 and N100,000.00 each, to boost their trade or start micro investments.

According to the lawmaker, who is the Chairman House Committee on Health in the State House of Assembly, 10 people with disabilities received N50,000.00 each and the 12 youths, whose training would cost N250,000.00 each, are guaranteed employment at the end of the training.
While noting that the scheme is to complement the state government’s human capital development agenda, Dr. Uroye assured that the next phase of the programme, would be bigger in terms of accommodating, “the world proper”.
Delta State Deputy Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party, Barr. Ada Val Arenyeka, in his remarks, stated that the empowerment scheme of Dr. Uroye had never been done in the history of Warri South Constituency I.

While Warri South PDP Leader, Chief (Dr.) Joseph Otumara thanked Dr. Uroye for, “keeping his word as bond”, expressing optimism that more good things will come to the constituents next year, the member representing Warri Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, Chief Thomas Ereyitomi, enjoined beneficiaries of the empowerment programme to invest the money wisely, so as to encourage others to do more.
Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, Dr. Michael Tidi, thanked Uroye on behalf of people of the local government area, for initiating the socio-economic development initiative, which is in line with his administration’s policy direction.
