The Ologbotsere of Warri, Chief Ayirimi Emami, at about 5pm this evening, Monday November 30 escaped death as his mini yacht exploded along the Ugbuwangue axis of Warri River.
Though details of the explosion were still sketchy as at the time of this report, the mini yacht with double 200 hardboard engine, was said to be heading to Warri Club Jetty from Ugbuwangue waterside to pick Chief Emami, who was to travel to Escravos, when it exploded, leaving one of Chief Emami’s staff on board seriously injured and was said to have been rushed to the hospital for medical attention.
The boat driver was reported to have dived into the river to escape death.
As at the time of this report, policemen were said to be heading to the scene of the explosion for necessary investigation.
