A new female power bloc known as Delta South Dynamic Ladies, DSDL, has emerged with the resolve to promote more women representation in government, Fresh Angle International has learnt.
Coordinator of DSDL, Sybil Orejemite Owumi, while announcing the female pressure group, whose membership cuts across Bomadi, Burutu, Patani, Isoko North, Isoko South, Warri South, Warri South-West and Warri North Local Government Areas, during their inauguration, thanked Delta State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa for empowering more women, “compared to the previous administration”, and canvassed for more women representation in government, saying, “the pressure group consists of gallant, trusted and tested grassroots PDP women in Delta South”.
Sybil Owumi thanked Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, Royal and Spiritual fathers, the State Chairman of PDP, Barr. Kingsley Esiso, Senator James Manager, members of the House of Representatives from Delta South, House of Assembly members from the district, the eight Local Government Chairmen, Commissioners, Local Government Area party Chairmen, all PDP political appointees from Delta South, the DG, Special Duties to the Governor of Delta State, Chief Frank Omare, National State Coordinator, PDP nbeilevers, Comrade Destiny Noritsegho, Hon. Sam Ako, Apostle M.T.O Oki and Hon. Lawrence Owumi, for their immense support, advice and encouragement.

She stated: “We would also like to add our voice to that of the State Government, to remind us of the exigencies that have been imposed on the world at large by the COVID-19 pandemic for several months now. And based on the speculations of medical experts on the resurgence of a second wave of the pandemic, which is reportedly more virulent, there have been serious health concerns all over the world.
“Given this development and in line with the recent Federal Government’s advisory, His Excellency, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, Governor of Delta State, has directed the general observance of several COVID-19 protocols and guidelines, which include the mandatory use of face masks, hand washing, or use of alcohol-based hand sanitizers and social distancing”.
