Adesina announces opening of African Continental Free Trade Area

President of African Development Bank, AfDB, Akinwumi Adesina, today, Friday January 1, announced the opening of African Continental Free Trade Area, as Britain practically commenced implementation of Brexit.

Adesina, in a tweet, assured that The African Development Bank will play its role to make the African Continental Free Trade Area, a success.

He stated: "Congratulations to Africa as the African Continental Free Trade Area opens today — the largest free trade zone in the world. The African Development Bank will play its role in making it a success."

It remains to be seen how countries in Africa, particularly Nigeria would implement the African Continental Free Trade Area, considering the growing insecurity in the North Eastern and North Western parts of the country, where it is believed that majority of the terrorists are foreigners.
