The Member representing Warri South Constituency I in Delta State House of Assembly, Dr. Augustine Uroye, has asked the Acting Chairman/Director of Personnel Management of Warri South Local Government Council, Dr. (Mrs.) Minnie Igbrude, to ensure a service of abatement is immediately served to the owner of a new gas plant being built along Ajamimogha Road, close to a section of the perimeter fencing of the Palace of Olu of Warri.

Dr. Uroye, who handed down the directive Monday January 25, when he made a brief stop-over at the Warri South Council Main Secretariat in Warri, shortly after visiting the site of the gas station, declared that the state government will not allow the erection of gas plants in residential areas.

While mentioning the gas explosion incident that occurred at Agbor, which claimed lives and properties as example of the dangers inherent in building gas stations in residential areas, the lawmaker disclosed plans to initiate a bill to outlaw the erection of gas stations, in residential areas as a matter of urgency.
