The Junior Chamber International, JCI, Warri, has revealed its 2021 plan of action, with Capacity building for young people, Inclusive economic growth, Advocacy for various causes, Maintaining peaceful coexistence and Exploiting diversity to create sustainable impacts, as its five key areas.

 

The 2021 President of JCI Warri, Mrs. Miracle Nkechi Oputu, in the plan of action made available to Fresh Angle International, noted that JCI Warri has immensely contributed to the development of various communities and diverse ethnic groups present within the State, through sustainable IMPACTS, PARTNERSHIPS AND PROJECTS, since its creation over three decades ago.

While noting that the JCI WARRI theme for this year is ‘EXCELLENCE’, Oputu added: “Our focus is to aim for excellence in our projects and partnerships, in the individual lives of our members, even as we COLLABORATE FOR IMPACT”.

She explained that The JCI WARRI would be strategic in its approach through: “Selfless/Excellent service and responsibility (which are the pillars of leadership) and all hands would be on deck to realise all set objectives, members would be inspired and motivated, allowing for creativity and positive innovation and sustainable partnership engagement”.

According to Oputu, the main activities of JCI Warri would be Membership Growth and Development, Training and Skills Development, Programmes and Projects, Finance and Management as well as Communications and Public Relations. 

“The activities for the year have been set out to align with JCI Strategic Plan recommendations IMPACT, MOTIVATE, INVEST, COLLABORATE AND CONNECT”, she emphasized.

 

The introduction of a chain of training programmes on Personal Development for members and intending members of JCI Warri and members of the community (corporate bodies and entities) as well as the plan to “develop an Officers Training guide that focuses on JCI Warri values, JCI organization, integrating JCI strategies and running community-based projects”, would be given the needed priority according to Oputu.

 

There is also plan to make efficient use of social media handles amongst members and to organize a JCI Warri Business Summit to promote networking with business owners and corporate organizations.

She added: “We intend to provide a travel plan that encourages members to participate in JCIN Area Conferences, JCIN National Convention, JCI Africa and Middle East Conference, JCI World Congress, and other International events.

JCI Warri will also identify Organizations offering grants to NGOs and apply for support of JCI Warri Programmes and Projects as well as launch a Programme to encourage active engagement of JCI Warri Alumni with the active members.

JCI WARRI will improve on the Trail of Hope Project by sponsoring more students for O’Level examinations. Identifying and supporting less privileged children with learning aids and materials that will aid their academic pursuit.

“On LEADERSHIP SYMPOSIUM, we will organize a one-day leadership symposium on Transparency, accountability and good governance, with Medical Women Association of Nigeria, Ministry of Health and others as partners”.

According to her, every year JCI Warri carryout road safety campaign and enlighten all road users on the importance of road safety in collaboration with Oil Trans Limited, Matrix Energy, FRSC and other partners.

She outlined the National statutory projects of JCIN and JCI, which will be planned for; to be executed locally once they are passed for uniformity, to include Go Green (Operation plant a tree) Peace Is Possible Campaign (JCI) International Youth Day (IYD) Economic Summit and Youth Empowerment Project, World Clean Up Project and Defensive Driving.
