Why this year’s WorldCancerDay was themed ‘I am and I will’ – UN

The United Nations Office in Nigeria, says the 2021 WorldCancerDay, observed today, Thursday February 4, was themed “I am and I will”, to serve as reminder that everyone can play a role in reducing the impact of cancer globally.

The UN in a short statement released on its twitter handle, explained that the theme was equally chosen to celebrate the courage of people living with cancer and their families; the nurses, doctors, advocates and others, who care for them and work on their behalf.

Fresh Angle International understands that cancer is the second leading cause of death globally, accounting for an estimated 9.6 million deaths.
