Rights’ Group demands transfer of Progress Madamedon’s alleged murder case to Police Headquarters

A Human Rights’ group by the name Warri North Human Rights Protection Crusaders, WNHRPC, has called for the transfer of the case regarding the alleged gruesome murder of one Progress Madamedon, from Ekpan Police Station in Uvwie Local Government Area, to the State Police Headquarters at Asaba, calling on the Delta State Government to prevail on the State Commissioner of Police to ensure thorough investigation.

Fresh Angle International understands that the slain Progress Madamedon, was a Mass Communication graduate from Federal Polytechnic, Auchi, Edo State and was yet to serve the compulsory one-year National Youth Service, due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, before his life was cut short January 22 this year, in what looks like murder for ritual purpose.

According to a statement issued by Spokesman of Warri North Human Rights Protection Crusaders, Mr. Kingsley Mebitaghan-Poko, the twenty-eight year old Progress Madamedon, was picked from Ajamimogha area of Warri by his friend, Bemiwo Esimajemite, in an understanding that they were going for a party at Shoprite in Effurun Roundabout.

The statement claimed that the lifeless body of the victim (Progress) with a dip cut on his throat was later discovered in the same friend’s (Bemiwo) car, which was involved in an accident close to the Ekpan-Ubeji Junction in the Uvwie axis of the NPA Expressway.

The group, explained that Cops from Ekpan Police Station, were invited to the scene of the accident and Bemiwo Esimajemite was arrested. Bemiwo, was in the police custody in Ekpan as at the time of this report, while the lifeless body of Progress, was in the Central Hospital Warri Mortuary.

The Rights’ group, stated the family of the slain Progress, are worried about the perceived delay of the Police at Ekpan to transfer, “such a criminal case of high degree” to the Police Headquarters at Asaba, expressing fears that it could be, “an indication that justice may not be done to the case”.
