Delta LG Poll: I will give scholarships, create empowerment programmes, if elected – Oyibo promises

The All Progressives Congress, APC, Councillorship Candidate for Ekurede-Itsekiri/Ugbori DSIEC Ward 14 in Warri South Local Government Area, in the forthcoming March 6 poll, Comrade Daniel Oyibo, has promised to give scholarships and create empowerment programmes for his constituents, if given the mandate to represent the ward, saying about 50% of children in the ward are not in school, due to lack of money.

Comrade Oyibo, who made the promise today, Friday February 19, during his campaign visit to Ekurede-Itsekiri and Ugbori Town Halls, noted; “Our Community needs proper education, if I emerge winner, I will provide scholarships and also empower the Elders and the youths.”

While pleading with the Olara-Ajas (Eldest men) and the Council of Elders of both communities for their support, advice and prayer, to enable him emerge victorious, the APC Councillorship hopeful, stated that he wants the progress of the community, “unlike some persons that have been in that position for eight years, but nothing to show for”.

The Olara-Aja of Ekurede-Itsekiri, who was represented by the PRO of the community, Mr. E.B. Omatseye, commended Daniel Oyibo, for, “thinking of the welfare of the children”, saying; “When there is a good person in that position, the children’s school will be well taken care of”.

Mr. Omatseye, who noted that the community will be at peace, if they invest in the youths, beseeched Oyibo not to forget his promise, “because many have come, but after being elected didn’t fulfill their promise”.

The Olara- Aja of Ugbori Community, Pa. Mark Misan Akani, said they were ready to support the APC candidate, “because of his love for child-education”, acknowledging that most of the problems of children in the area, are due to parental failure.

A member of Ekurede Itsekiri Elders’ Council, Mr. Otimeyin Agbaloge, pronounced: “We will love to see the manifestation of your plans, we have accepted you, because of your humble nature and pray God you emerge winner”.

Former member of Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Ojere Edeyibo, assured the bodies of Elders, that Comrade Daniel Oyibo, will remember the communities for their prayers and support, if he wins the election.

The former lawmaker, admitted that he had not followed anyone on such visitation, but “knowing the determination that he (Oyibo) has, I have decided to come with him, to seek for your support”.

Two members of the APC, Patience Edemayibo and Margret Omagbemi, appealed to APC candidate to empower the women, especially the widows, if elected, “because for eight years, the women have not benefitted”.
