Prof. Itse Sagay (SAN) the Olufusi of Warri Kingdom, has appealed to the gladiators in the ongoing crisis arising from the announcement of the new Olu of Warri to resolve the issue amicably and refrain from taking legal actions against one another.
He said any legal tussle will not only diminish the Olu crown but will also weaken the strength of the Itsekiri nation.
Speaking with Daily Independent on Wednesday, Sagay, Chairman of the Presidential Advisory Committee Against Corruption (PACAC) said those loyal to the Olu-elect, Prince Tsola Emiko should do all they can to get the support of the Ologbotsere of Warri kingdom, Chief Ayirimi Emami.
He said: “They should endeavour to resolve the issues with the Ologbotsere cooperating. We must avoid any legal tussle or going to court because that diminishes the authority of the crown and by the same token, the very strength and existence of the Itsekiri people who are a very old nation, established since 1480. They should resolve the matter and not diminish that by going to court”.
“Frankly, I believe Tsola Emiko is the best choice for now. I was waiting for them to resolve this problem for him to be declared as the Olu-elect for everybody, including the Ologbotsere and the others who are not in support of his choice”.
