Foremost advocate of promoting youth participation in governance, Amb. (Dr.) Young Piero O., has accused Delta State Commissioner of Oil and Gas, Prince Emmanuel Amgbaduba of promoting bigotry against Chevron Itsekiri host communities in Warri South and Warri South - West Local Government Areas of Delta State, by allegedly instigating some youths of Gbaramatu against allowing Chevron Nigeria Limited, leaders of its Itsekiri host communities and other critical stakeholders from conducting the Joint Investigation Verification, JIV on the crude oil spill that recently occurred at Abiteye and Utonana Fields of the company's operational area.
The Youth and Peace Ambassador, in a press statement released this morning, Thursday April 15, alleged that the accusation of ethnic favouritism leveled against the General Manager, PGPA Chevron Nigeria Limited, Mr. Esimaje Brikinn by the protesting Gbaramatu youths, was the handiwork of Prince Amgbaduba, to intimidate the management of the Oil and Gas Major into falling prey for, "a well thought - out pro Ijaw ethnic script, intended to shut out its Itsekiri host communities in the JIV".
While advising the management of Chevron Nigeria Limited against, " falling for a trap capable of sending the company into a devastating round of litigation, that would lead to massive economic loss and negative International image, as an organization that disrespects court judgments as well as verifiable history", Amb. Piero urged Prince Amgbaduba to play the role of a: "Statesman, which his office as commissioner demands, to prevent avoidable ethnic strife and allow the Delta State Government alongside Chevron Nigeria Limited, institute a smooth process for the JIV, to the satisfaction of people of its Itsekiri host communities".
