The Police in Delta State, says the suspects who murdered a Prince in Udu Kingdom, one Eric Tekere, his police escort and attempted to murder Frankline Tekere (brother to Eric) on April 3 this year, have been arrested and presently in their custody.
According to the Police, the suspects are; 33-year old Augustine Osiebe, 35-year old Ovie Makaji, 22-year old Wisdom Michael and 27-year old Jonathan Tuoyo.
A Police statement made available to Fresh Angle International this afternoon, Tuesday May 4, revealed that the arrest of the suspects, was based on intelligence gathered and concerted efforts from the Police and the Military.
The suspects were reportedly arrested on April 14, 18 and 20 respectively in Warri and have allegedly confessed to the crime and other crimes, including the robbery at Udu Micro-Finance Bank.
The statement credited to the Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Ari Muhammed Ali, added: “Based on their confession, on May 1, 2021, behind NTA Asaba, the trio of one Ogboru Glory ‘m’ age 29yrs, Peremobower Omoni ‘m’ age 31yrs and Imoniwvie Sunday ‘m’ age 21yrs were arrested. Ogboru Glory happens to be the gang leader, who procure and supply arms to the gang. On 2/5/2021 the gang leader Ogboru Glory led team of SAKCCS operatives to Abraka and arrested one Caleb Oghenetega ‘m’ a.k.a K2 Age 22yrs”.
Exhibits purportedly recovered from the suspects include one (1) Pump Action gun, one (1) English double Barrel gun, one cut-to-size single barrel gun, three (3) locally made pistol and twenty seven (27) live cartridges.
