A bill sponsored by the member representing Okpe, Sapele and Uvwie Federal Constituency, Hon. Efe Afe, which seeks to provide the legal framework for the establishment of a Federal Medical Center, FMC in Orerokpe, Headquarters of Okpe Local Government Area of Delta State, has scaled second reading in the House of Representatives.
Fresh Angle International understands that in his lead debate on the bill, Hon. Efe Afe, said it was in response to the yearnings of his constituents.
The Federal lawmaker, explained that residents of the area, needed a well-equipped healthcare center for easy access to good health care.
He added that the move for the establishment of the Federal Medical Centre, was informed by the need to bridge the existing gap between primary, secondary and tertiary healthcare delivery in the constituency.
Hon. Afe, disclosed that The Orodje of Okpe Kingdom, Orhrue I and other stakeholders, have approved about 6 hectares of land for the establishment of the Federal Medical center.
He stated that the Monarch and people of Okpe kingdom, were happy over the bill to establish FMC in the area.
Hon. Afe, enjoined his constituents to continue to support him, pledging to attract more development to the grassroots.
