The National Leadership of Niger Delta Nonviolence Agitators Forum, NDNAF, has advised Niger Deltans not to be part of the planned nationwide protest that is scheduled for tomorrow Saturday being 12th June Democracy Day.
According to NDNAF, while the prevalent problems plaguing the country, especially the economic and insecurity challenges are common knowledge, it will not be right to aggravate the situation, otherwise it will amount to using fire to quench fire knowing the possibility of hijack of such protest by hoodlums, miscreants and criminals elements to cause mayhem.
NDNAF, which is a proponent of dialogue and nonviolence believe that constructive engagement of government at various levels, remains the best option. It cited the case of the ENDSARS Protest that was well intended and well organised, but was later hijacked by miscreants to unleash unimaginable and indescribable terror on innocent members of the public.
In a statement that was signed and made available to the press, the National President of NDNAF; Most Senior Comrade Wisdom Oniekpar Ikuli advised Niger Deltans especially great youths never to allow themselves to be used as willing tools by self-seeking politicians who always take undue advantages of gullible youths to perpetrate mischief while advancing their inordinate ambitions.
