2023: Delta South Dynamic Ladies, flags off women sensitization with visit to Burutu

As part of strategies toward promoting more women participation and representation in government, members of the fast growing Delta South Dynamic Ladies, DSDL, last weekend commenced its broad - based sensitization campaign and membership drive to Burutu town and Ogulagha Community in Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State. 

 

Fresh Angle International understands that the sensitization visit, was greeted with excitement by scores of women as they promised to join DSDL in their resolve to enlighten more grassroots women on the need to get involved in politicking and governance, so as to contribute positively in the quest to achieve people - centred and effective governance at all levels.

Coordinator of Delta South Dynamic Ladies, Sybil Orejemite Owumi, told This Newspaper that the Coordinator and Assistant Coordinator of Burutu Local Government Area Chapter of DSDL, Ebi Deinne and Sophia Binebai, respectively as well as Chairman of Ogulagha Community, Hon. Justice Akuna, were among prominent leaders in attendance during the sensitization visit, which attracted a mammoth crowd.

 

Owumi, reiterated her appreciation to Delta State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, " for empowering more women and called for more women representation in government".

 

She disclosed that the next local government area to be visited as part of the sensitization campaign, will be Warri North by the end of this month, June. 

 

The group has membership in Bomadi, Burutu, Patani, Isoko North, Isoko South, Warri South, Warri South - West and Warri North Local Government Areas.

 

Recall that DSDL stormed Ogbe - Ijoh, Warri South - West Local Government Area, January this year, to identify with the political class and other organizers of Amafini Festival.
