Authorities of Warri South Local Government Council in Delta State, on Wednesday and Thursday, July 14 and 15, embarked on massive opening of the blocked water channel at Idudun Street in Igbudu Market, Warri.
The exercise, which was overseen by the Warri South Council Supervisor for Environment, Patricia Edun, on behalf of the Warri South Local Government Chairman, Dr. Michael Tidi, saw the Council’s Head of Environment Department, Mrs. Stella Mode, assisted by Eho lwere Isabella, coordinating other officials of the department, to ensure reasonable clearing of the water channel, littered with refuse and over-grown weeds.
The clean-up, supported by the lgbudu Market Master, was in continuation of the Council’s efforts to check flooding in the Oil City of Warri.
Recall that the Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, Dr. Michael Tidi, had constantly stated that environmental sanitation/ beautification as well as peace and security, form the major plank of his administration's policy for the current term.
