Kogi NYCN berates Isah Abubakar led Northern Youth Council of Nigeria over N20billion

The National Youth Council of Nigeria, NYCN, Kogi State Chapter has reacted to the malicious, indicting and defamatory publication by the Northern Youth Council of Nigeria on the Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency Yahaya Adoza Bello.

It described the statement by the  faceless group as  needless vituperative rants with a pointless  caption", EFCC: NYCN vows to mobilise to ensure Gov Bello ends up in Prison after tenure expires".

Our Kogi State Correspondent, reports that the said publication which went viral  across various news platforms where it lauded the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for the uncommon courage to go after Governor Yahaya Bello and what the forum called “his looting cabinet members”, the NYCN noted is a  desperate attempt to smear image of the Governor obviously out fear for his rising profile nationally.

A statement signed by the  chairman of Kogi State Chapter of NYCN, Ambassador Ogohi Samuel Usman and made available to newsmen in Lokoja,  the state capital stressed that, " that Kogi State under the leadership of our able and dynamic Governor Alhaji Yahaya Bello has been one of the few states in the country to pay salaries of her civil servants timely, and has over the past years built trust and a reputable name for himself".

The statement reads: "the political jobbers in the Northern Youth Council of Nigeria and those that believe that Yahaya would fix 20 billion Naira of public funds in a fixed deposit account and withdraw same from the said “fixed deposit account” clearly has a wrong knowledge of the banking system and a wrong notion about him and should desist from such defamatory statements".

"The publication by the so called group, it pointed out, " is not only targeted at the person of the Governor, but the State as well. Our peace and development has come under threat and must be resisted by all. Efforts are being made to ridicule and suppress the North Central’s presidential ambition currently flying through his excellency. Their evil machinations are dead on arrival"

It further stressed that, " it is however,  disappointing that a Kangaroo group with a misleading acronym, “NYCN” who by all standard should be well informed and properly educated as professionals peddle fake news and defamatory statements in this time of security challenges in the country. We wonder how they deemed it fit to join in the needless propagation of an existing case which is still being investigated and tried in the court of law, the only competent body to do so?".

"We also want to make it known to the so called president of Northern Youth Council of Nigeria group that we are very aware his actions are sponsored by some disgruntled individuals and groups seeking to discredit the efforts of Nigerian Youths and women on their stand and unflinching support for the presidential ambition of all Nigerian youths spear  headed by his Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello and to dent  his reputable image  in the state and the country by their  childish political antics which are dead on arrival".

"Kogi people,  the statement maintained are very much happy, satisfied and grateful for the government of Governor Yahaya Bello which resulted in the charge from the over 5.7 million youths of the Northern States and still counting across other groups-political zones calling on the Governor to go all out for the country's presidency come 2023.

Against this backdrop, Kogi NYCN has resolved on the following "That the so called group called Northern Youth Council of Nigeria, NYCN, is non-existent and out to mislead and misinform and does not have any affiliation with the National Youth Council of Nigeria.

"That the group desist from using the official acronym of the National Youth Council of Nigeria to carry out any hatchet job.

"That the group through its self -acclaimed president, Isah Abubakar desist from hate speech and avoid making himself a tool to settle political gains.

"That the group should rather channel its energy towards what could be beneficial to the members and the society and not try to fuel fake news, hate speech and misleading publication.

"Demand apologies to the Governor of Kogi State and all Nigerian Youths for the misleading statement and to allow the anti-graft agency which is probing the salary accounts of Kogi State government to finish her work objectively.

"Assures the group of  being  forgiven by the ever generous sacrificial heart of his excellency and the Nigerian youths who are all out to see that their desire for youthful leadership is achieved through our best bet Alhaji Yahaya Adoza".
