Special Assistant to Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan on Special Duties, Mr. Matthew Poko Opuoru says the huge investment in the Agricultural sector as well as reasonable improvement in the internally generated revenue are two key areas Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan is striving towards achieving his Delta Beyond Oil agenda.
The Okere-Urhobo born PDP Chieftain in Warri South Local Government area made the assertion at the Okere-Urhobo Community Development Committee Secretariat, Otor-Orere Thursday August 7 in a chat with newsmen shortly after the PDP Councillorship primaries for Okumagba1 ward 9, Otor-Orere ward 8 and two other wards.
While noting that Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan’s administration has balanced the state budget against any possible deficit, Mr. Opuoru stressed that the governor has done a lot in the areas of education, construction of massive roads and bridges as well as other forms of infrastructural developments across Warri, Asaba, Effurun and other cities in the state.
He dismissed the allegation that the Delta State Independent Electoral Commission, DSIEC comprises of PDP members and advised all aspirants to councillorship positions in Okere-Urhobo area, Warri South local government to remain calm no matter the outcome of the primaries, noting that PDP is a big family poised to give its members equal opportunities.
Our Correspondent reports that officials, party and community leaders as well as youths of Okere-Urhobo and Okumagba wards attended the primaries.
Though result of the primaries were not made public as at the time of filing this report, there are indications that a former Leader of Warri South Legislative Arm, Hon. Sunny Okiemute Aguweye is in pole position to return as Councilor for Otor-Orere ward 8.
