Victims of Saturday October 23 road crash along Benin-Lagos route, who travelled with Libra Motors, have been presented with cheque of one hundred and eight thousand, five hundred naira as support, under the Delta State Passengers' Welfare Scheme.
Presenting the cheque to the victims’ families Thursday October 28, on behalf of the Delta State Government, Delta State Commissioner for Transport, Basil Ganagana Esq, said the state government was ever ready to support any accident victim, who key into the state Passengers' Welfare Scheme.
Hon. Ganagana, urged Deltans to embrace the Passengers' Welfare Scheme, stressing that the scheme is to protect the people from the unexpected in any part of the country, as far as the commercial vehicle’s company is registered with the scheme and takes off from Delta State.
Engr. Egogo Lawrence, fielding questions from newsmen
Consultant to the Delta State Government on Passengers' Welfare Scheme, Engr. Egogo Lawrence, noted that the State Passengers' Welfare Scheme, was fully determined to compensate accident victims within and outside Delta State.
Engr. Lawrence, who's the MD Calf-time Global Concept Ltd, encouraged transporters to key into the scheme, assuring that the scheme was on ground to give medical care to passengers.
Manager, Libra Motors, Warri, Mike Oriri, who received the cheque on behalf of management of the transport company and victims, commended the Passengers’ Welfare Scheme handlers and the Delta State Government, for their swift response.
He advised other transport companies to as a matter of urgency, identify with the scheme for better welfare coverage of their passengers.
