The National Coordinator of Nigeria Voters Assembly, Comrade Eburu Emuaghogho Olasunkani, made the disclosure in Warri, Delta State, Sunday October 31, after Barr. Mustapha Umar, inaugurated the National executive of the body led by him and he subsequently swore - in the Delta State exco.

He said it was sad and regrettable that most youths have the mindset that their contributions to the selection process of political leaders, are irrelevant.

Comrade Eburu, asserted: "It is observed with total dismay that a lot of youths are just spectators during the selection process of our leaders, with the mindset that their contributions are irrelevant, it is sad and regrettable and it ought not to be.

"We have commenced the process of building an army of electorates as group by encouraging and enlightening every eligible voter to get their permanent voters card as it is sacrosanct in ensuring there is a ballot revolution come 2023 and beyond, we have assisted over 2,000 eligible Voters to get registered in the ongoing INEC continuous voters registration and we have set a target of 10,000,000 eligible voters with voters card by 2023 across the 36 states of the federation, including the FCT. It is pertinent to note that our membership cuts across the 36 states of the federation, including the Federal Capital Territory, with every state having a State Coordinator, details of the respective states coordinators will be made available on our official website soonest.

"Nigerians are hereby encouraged to be part of this group that will change the narratives in the selection process of our leaders, by joining via the official website www.nigeriavotersassembly.com. As a group, we strongly believe in negotiating from a position of strength, hence we are of the opinion that if we are visible and active in the selection process of our leaders, we will be able to achieve over 40percent of youth participation and involvement in subsequent government.

"In a society where technocrats and Democrats shy away from leadership positions, charlatans and microscopic elements will occupy its political space. You don't need to be a politician to cast your vote and be part of the selection process of our leaders, it is your civic responsibility, your vote is your voice, so please let us speak out and be heard."
