Opinion: Eghoro (Young Town) gets street light for the first time in her existence
Night Hours at Eghoro (Young Town) after installation of the street lights

I want to specially thank the Eghoro Trust Executive ably led by Festus Ashima for swinging into action an ensuring Eghoro comes to life.

Preparation to intstall the street lights

When I visited the community and slept for about 3days over 2months ago, the whole place was in total darkness, which is prevalent in almost all our riverine communities; I pleaded with the trust Chairman, Festus Ashima and the Youth Exco led by Hon. Kanu Duakpemi that this village was too dark, hence we needed some form of street lights to bring night life into the community.  This, when installed will also give security to the community.

Yesterday, the Youth President called me to tell me that the street lights were ready and asked if I could join them to mount it in Eghoro.

While in the office, I suspended all I was doing, excitedly, I took a boat from Koko Jetty, waited for them to come from Sapele and went together to Eghoro to install the street lights.

As I was leaving in the night, joy filled my heart, seeing the SOLAR POWER STREET LIGHTS illuminating the community.  It was indeed a sight to behold.

While I will continue to thank the Eghoro Trust Executive, Special thanks also goes to Hon Godwin Ebosa for his support thus far. *As a son of EGHORO, has been a pillar to the community*. He hasn't failed to extend a hand of support to us developmentally...

As an Itsekiri, I would appeal to everyone to try as much as people to go home and add value to our communities.  You do small, I do small, our communities will come back to LIFE.
