Two Mass Communication students of Delta State Polytechnic Otefe-Oghara, Umokoro .E. Presley and Williams Kimbevily have emerged winners of Master and Miss DESPO 2014/2015 beauty pageant respectively in the just concluded students’ week of the institution, Our Delta Correspondent reports.
The new Master DESPO, Umukoro Presley, described himself as the happiest man on earth and promised to work with the Rector of the Institution towards the development of the school. “I will work with the Rector of DSPT, Dr. (Mrs.) Clara Sogbaike to provide accommodation for students, reduction of textbooks’ price, and work hand in hand with the SUG President, Comrade Ifodo Raymond to provide public transport to and fro from Otefe and also work with all faculty presidents for the betterment of students”.
The winner of Miss DESPO, Williams Kimbevily expressed her thoughts this way, “I am very happy, It is a beginning of new life for me and I thank God for it. As the winner of Miss DESPO, I will organize a seminar for personal hygiene for all students in the institution, I will work hand in hand (sic) with the SUG President, Comrade Ifodo Raymond to provide scholarship to the best student in each department and I will try my best”.
The Chief Judge of the beauty pageantry, Mr. Wisdom Mark stressed that “there was no partiality because I have been with the contestants from onset of the rehearsal till today, I have been watching their activities till this very end”.
Other female contestants of the beauty pageantry included: Owoyeli Ajike Princess, Business Admin ND I Student, Wendy Uduaghan, Mass comm. ND I Student, Ebbah Blessing Oghenerukevwe, Banking and Finance ND I student, Okunnuwa Oluwatoyin Anita, Mass comm. ND I student, Owu Jennifer, Business Admin. ND I Student.
While other boys contestants included: Omuinu Christian Tenayson, Computer Science NDI student, Famous Joseph, Banking and Finance NDI student, Okparavero Richmond, Electrical/Electronic ND I student.
