The All Progressives Congress, APC has condemned the PDP for boycotting the marriage ceremony of the daughter of her 2012 Edo State governorship candidate, General Charles Airhiavbere, which took place in Benin City, Edo State recently.
The absence of PDP bigwigs may not be unconnected with the commotion and disunity which resulted from the General’s lose of the 2012 gubernatorial election and his decision to head to the tribunal against the wish of the party.
The Publicity Secretary of APC in Edo State told Our Benin City Correspondent, ”APC observed with dismay, the absence of Edo State PDP leaders at the traditional marriage, white wedding and reception where they ought to identify with the family of a man they exploited so badly just two years ago. The fact that most PDP leaders, including their State Chairman, Chief Dan Orbih did not show up at their polling centres to vote for Gen. Airhiavbere on July 14th, 2012 and the boycott of his daughter’s marriage further exposed PDP leaders as mercenaries who do not wish the General well but merely interested in duping him”.
APC commended General Airhiavbere for being able to put his detractors in PDP to shame by pulling such a crowd of quality and decent personalities to the event.
