DTHA 2015: Opuoru’s aspiration is our project, Okere – Urhobo indigenes declare
Mr. Matthew Poko Opuoru in warm handshake with Chief Emmanuel Okumagba

Peoples Democratic Party leaders in Okumagba ward I and II as well as some other Urhobo stakeholders in Warri South Local Government Area in Delta State have thrown their weight behind the 2015 House of Assembly aspiration of Special Assistant to Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan on Special Duties, Mr. Mathew Poko Opuoru, describing the political aspiration of the governor’s aide as their project which must be pursued to logical conclusion.

Scion of the Okumagba dynasty and PDP leader in Warri South Local Government, Chief Emmanuel Okumagba while receiving Mr. Mathew Opuoru and his supporters in his private residence in Warri summed up his position on the 2015 Warri South Constituency II hopeful thus, “I know Mathew well enough as rugged and firm but he fights like jackals, which means he can fight for the rights of his people”.

While admonishing Mr. Matthew Opuoru to keep a straight face in his 2015 aspiration, Chief Okumagba noted that the people no longer want the era where everybody will be bought with money into slavery denied of their rights.

An Educationist, Pa. Churchill Oki, former Supervisor for Youths, Sports and Culture in Warri South Local Government, Mr. Festus Okoloko, Okumagba Ward II Women Leader, Divine Iniovosa as well as an elder in Agbarha, Warri who prefers anonymity, all described Mr. Opuoru’s aspiration to the Warri South Constituency II seat in 2015 as their project which must be vigorously pursued, even as they quipped that it is the turn of Okere-Urhobo to produce the Warri South Constituency II representative since Agbarha Warri has had three terms since 2003.

Receiving Mr. Opuoru and his supporters at the Okumagba Ward I headquarters, the PDP Ward Chairman, Mr. Femi Okumagba described the governor’s aide as one who has worked a lot with them and stated that the intention of Mr. Opuoru  is good, adding that, “he is a moving train”.

Mr. Matthew Poko Opuoru in separate remarks at the home of Chief Emmanuel Okumagba and his ward headquarters, stated, “I want to appeal to the people of Warri South Constituency II to give me their massive support to enable us see the benefit of our efforts having fought to sustain the legacy of PDP in the constituency in particular and the state at large.”

While noting that he has nothing against the incumbent member representing Warri South Constituency II in the State House of Assembly, Mr. Opuoru assured the people that his aspiration will consolidate on the winning streak PDP has been enjoying in the constituency.

Our Correspondent reports that some former Councilors and current Transition Committee Members of Warri South Local Government such as Mr. Dave Akporaye, Alex Edah, Hon. Sunny Aguweye and Hon. Steven Dolor were among top PDP leaders that graced Mr. Matthew Poko Opuoru’s declaration.
