The Transition Committee Chairman of Warri South Local Government, Dr. Augustine Uroye has described the election of Delta State Sports Commission Chairman, Mr. Amaju Pinnick as the new President of Nigeria Football Federation, NFF as an inspiration to all Deltans.
The Warri South Council boss in a statement issued in Warri as part of the 54th Independence Anniversary of Nigeria noted that the overwhelming victory of Mr. Amaju Pinnick in the keenly contested election coming on the heels of leadership crisis that recently bedeviled the NFF is an indication that people of Warri and indeed Deltans can aspire to the highest electoral position in Nigeria irrespective of their minority status.
According to Dr. Uroye, the caliber of contestants in the NFF election which produced Mr. Pinnick makes the victory of the Delta State FA Chairman “more enthralling and very inspiring”, adding that Mr. Amaju Pinnick’s penchant for success in sports which has seen him leading Delta State to the summit severally at the National Sports festival as well as Warri Wolves Football Club to continental competitions is a testament that Nigeria Football will experience a reign of continuous growth in the years ahead.
He commended the Uduaghan led administration for hosting the NFF election and for supporting the DFA boss in his strives for excellence.
