The new Commissioner of Police, CP, Delta State, Mr. Alkali Baba Usman has warned intending criminals that Warri is under the firm control of the police command, Fresh Angle International can exclusively report.
Mr. Alkali Baba Usman made the declaration Thursday October 9 at the Warri South Local Government Council Main Secretariat, Warri when he paid a familiarization visit to the Transition Committee Chairman of Warri South Local Government, Dr. Augustine Uroye.
The CP while commending the state government for the good structure put in place in terms of logistics, troop allowance and provision of equipment, opined that they have no reason not to work to reduce crime rate in the state.
He explained that the issue of policing is a complex one in the sense that everyone wants to sleep well and go about their businesses, stressing that the issue of security is capital, human and time intensive.
Pertaining the forthcoming local government election in the state, he charged everyone to put hands on deck to ensure the conduct of a free and fair election as well as having a contingency plan to use should the need arise.
Speaking earlier, the Transition Committee Chairman of Warri South Local Government, Dr. Augustine Uroye commended the DPO of ‘A’ and ‘B’ Divisions, saying they have contributed immensely towards the relative peace in the city of Warri.
According to Dr. Augustine Uroye, there is the need for quality police personnel to pilot the security affairs of the city in order to sustain the prevailing peace. He opined that if you have a perfect police work force, the system will work.

The Warri South Council boss expressed optimism that with the profile, training and experience of the new CP deployed to the state, the challenge of insecurity will be properly managed in the state.
While stating that the Area Commander know the Warri area very well, he lauded him and his men for the techniques they are using to tackle insecurity in Warri.
