The National Association of Nigerian students, NANS Zone B has given a three day ultimatum to the Edo State Government and members of Colleges of Education Academic Staff Union, COEASU to immediately call off the three months old strike in Edo State or face indefinite protests.
The Deputy Co-ordinator of NANS Zone B, Comrade Richard Ekutu while disclosing this to Newsmen in Benin City, Edo State vowed that if the Edo State Government and COEASU do not end the strike within three days, the National Secretariat of NANS will be relocated to Edo State, stressing that indefinite protests will be organized by the association in Benin City to press home their demand. 
“The government and COEASU should desist from causing delay to our academic activities, we hereby from this day (Monday November 10) give a three day ultimatum to all parties to resolve their issues and re-open our campuses and failure to meet our demands, the National Secretariat of NANS will be relocated to Edo State to organize indefinite protests, thereby making governance in the state impossible, we are already mobilizing students from all tertiary institutions in Nigeria”, he stated.     
Meanwhile, the President of Student Union Government, SUG of College of Education, Igueben, Edo State told Our Benin City Correspondent that members of COEASU claimed that the Edo State Government is owing them salaries for up to 16 months, while the State Government on its part declared that they are not owing workers of Colleges of Education in the State “because the increment of salary they are fighting for have not been implemented”.
COEASU comprises of College of Agriculture, Iguoriakhi, College of Education, Benin City and College of Education, Igueben.
