The Management of Chevron, a frontline multinational oil company in Nigeria, operator of the NNPC/Chevron Joint Venture says it adopted the Dual Gradient Drilling, DGD technology in its deep-water operations to reduce water pressure and give better definition of her operations.

This much was disclosed Tuesday November 11 by an official of the company, Evbotokhai Paul when the Lagos State Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources, Taofeek Tijani led NAPE officials as well as other stakeholders in the Oil and Gas Industry to Chevron Exhibition Stand at the ongoing 32nd Nigeria Association of Petroleum Explorationists, NAPE International Conference and Exhibition in Eko Hotels and Suites, Lagos.

According to Evbotokhai, the DGD method is a game-changing technology for deep-water drilling which allows Chevron to design deep-water operations as if it were onshore, since most of the company’s activities are now offshore (in deep-water).
