A United States of America based Audiologist and Director General of Niger Delta Care Incorporated, Dr. John Oyiborhoro says his organization is providing free health care to the under-privileged in the Niger Delta due to their inability to pay for medical challenges, particularly their hearing and sight deficiencies.
Dr. Oyiborhoro gave the explanation Tuesday November 18 at Patani Health Centre in Patani Local Government Area of Delta State during a free hearing and sight services offered by his organization.
According to him, his NGO, Niger Delta Care Incorporated carried out similar exercise in 2013 in some Urhobo communities in Delta State, just as he noted that the target of his organization is to extend the free medi-care to the entire Niger Delta region.
The US based Audiologist commended the Starkey Foundation, which is also based in the US for their support and stressed that challenges being faced by his NGO in the course of rendering free medical services to the under-privileged includes lack of mobility of their equipment, accommodation and enabling environment.
While noting that Niger Delta Care incorporated is apolitical, Dr. Oyiborhoro appealed for the support of well meaning individuals and groups to enable his organization reach out to its targeted audience.
In her remark, the new Chairman of Patani Local Government Area, Mrs. Josephine Abeki lauded the gesture of Niger Delta Care Incorporated and assured the organization of her administration’s support.
