The Immediate Past Chairman of the Nigeria Institute of Builders, Delta State Chapter and Vice-Chairman of Association of Professional Bodies of Nigeria, Delta State, Bldr. K.E. Oghoro, has said that despite the huge interest of Government-NPower- Build, controlled by the Nigerian Institute of Building, NIOB, the Construction/Building industry, is yet to meet the expectations of its clientele, due to the traditional method of construction and the fact that professionals in the industry are at logger-heads.
Bldr. Oghoro, made the assertion at Ogbe-Ijoh in Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State, Monday December 6, while presenting a lecture titled: “Synergy Among Professionals in the Construction Industry: The role of Builders”, during the 2021 End of Year Party of Works Department of Warri South-West Local Government Council.
Our Warri South-West Correspondent, reports that Bldr. Oghoro, canvassed for synergy amongst professionals in the Construction/Building Industry, so as to meet the expectations of clientele,
The position of Bldr. Oghoro, came on the backdrop of the recurring building collapse in Nigeria.
According to him, traditional construction methods, separate the design team from each other and pitches them against the construction team.
He said that efforts such as Social Integration, Advocacy and Integrated Project Delivery, are being made to integrate the Construction Industry team.
Bldr. Aghoro, explained that the Integrated Project Delivery, supports and integrates the efforts of the various professionals toward meeting clients' objectives, by harnessing the talents and contributions of all team members, to optimize project results, reduce waste, reduce cost and maximize efficiency.
Responding, the Head of Works Department, Warri South-West Local Government Council and host of the Party, Bldr. Friday Itsekure, stressed the need for professionals in the industry, to shun traditional construction practices and work together, “as the industry is big enough for all”.
Bldr. Itsekure, reiterated that every profession in the industry, has its own important role to play.

The Director, Nursing Services (DNS) Eunice Oguafor, Head of Department, Budget and Statistics, Anthony Ukwame, Head of Department, Community Development/ Information, Yvonne Suowari, Establishment Officer, Linda Osodi, all of Warri South-West Local Government Council and the Head of Department, Community Development/ Information, Okpe Local Government Council, Christy Itsekure, were among those present at the ceremony.
