In the spirit of celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ, Tazan Foundation has extended its humanitarian reach to the less privileged living in Adavi Local Government Area of Kogi State.
Founder of the charity group, Tazan Onimisi, who hails from Adavi Local Government Area, donated rice, tomatoes and other ingredients to his people. Some of the less privileged who benefited from the packages he disclosed were youths, women, and men, who have little or no hope of securing anything for the Christmas celebration.
In his chat with newsmen, while making the presentation, Hon. Tazan said the donation was borne out of the good-spirited nature of his Foundation who saw the necessity for everyone to fully partake in the celebration of Christmas.
According to Tazan the donations are one of the ways of giving back to society and ensuring that the less privileged join other Kogite in celebrating Christmas.
“Given the hard economic status in the state, families and individuals reached out to will have reason to celebrate and enjoy the Christmas holiday. It will also play a good role to brighten the children and the place they call home."
Tazan stressed that he believes the Jesus feast was originally conceptualized to support the needy at the auspicious occasion of the birth of Jesus Christ and its attendant celebration and it has not departed from the path.
He further used the platform to express gratitude to God for His enduring grace upon the Nigerian Nation and her entire citizens, adding that, the world has been unsettled by the corona virus pandemic as it has devastatingly affected all facets of mankind; economically and otherwise.
He admonished Nigerians to remain committed to God Almighty for the solutions to the country’s problems, such as security, economy and governance as well as personal problems.
One of the beneficiaries who spoke to Our Correspondent said, Tazan Foundation has been doing a lot for his Local Government and beyond, he added that this kind gesture of his is just one out of so many things they have benefited in 2021.
He prayed that God will continue to provide for him, while urging well-to-do individuals in the society to engage in humanitarian services and help complement government's efforts, especially in their quest to reduce poverty in the state.
