Take over ICDA now- Board of Trustees, beg Attah Igala

The Board of Trustees of Igala Cultural and Development Association,ICDA, has appealed to the Attah Igala, HRM Mathew Alaji Opaluwa Oguche II, to take over the apex Igala socio-cultural organization for the development of the Igala Nation in Kogi State.

Our Kogi State Correspondent, reports that the appeal was contained in a statement released today, Thursday December 30 and signed by the ICDA Chairman, Incorporated Trustees, Dr. Omakoji Simeon Oyiguh and Secretary, Hon. David Ina Ogu.

They said the appeal was a fallout of their courtesy visit to the highly respected Monarch.

According to the statement, the Incorporated BOT was represented by Professor Armstrong Idachaba and Thompson Makolo Jnr.

The BOT, expressed worry over the continued flouting of the directives of His Royal Majesty by a faction of the ICDA.

They noted that, the Incorporated BOT found the action of the factional ICDA, utterly shameful and morally reprehensible, stressing that, ICDA has a major priority of promoting the Igala culture and tradition in the overall interest of the Igala people.

Continuing, the statement said: "The BOT has therefore taken the deliberate decision to unwind the ICDA as is presently constituted, and hands it over to the Attah Igala, the real owner and natural custodian of Igala culture and tradition.

"The BOT further requested the Attah to take over ICDA for restructuring, including fashioning out a new constitution for ICDA , and thereafter a new election into the executive positions, an the recomposition of a new board of trustees, following which the current board can officially sign out at the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC).

"The Incorporated Trustees, insisted that the Igala people do not desire or deserve a factionalised and politicised ICDA bereft of the dignity and grandeur of the Igala heritage".
