DTHA 2023: Any politician who negotiate Warri South-West Constituency Seat, will contend with us – IPAF warns

Itsekiri Political Advancement Front, IPAF, has warned that any politician of Itsekiri extraction, who intends to negotiate the Warri South-West Constituency Seat in Delta State House of Assembly ahead of the 2023 general elections, for his or her selfish ambition, should be ready to contend with them and other patriotic Itsekiris.

Fresh Angle International can report that the warning, was part of the communique reached Sunday January 23, during the first meeting of Itsekiri Political Advancement Front, IPAF held this year, 2022.

The meeting, which took place at Medrick Lori Medical Center at Ajamimogha Road, Warri in Delta State, had in attendance; representatives from Ugbolokposo Community in Uvwie Local Government Area, Ogun-Aja in Sapele, Ajimele, Ibirifo, Ifole and Obontie, all in Delta Central Senatorial District of the state.

The attendees include; Delta Central Coordinator of IPAF, Comrade Esigbone Prosper, Chairman and Secretary of Itsekiri Liberation Group, Comrade Mone Oris and Comrade Ajofotan Omagbemi, respectively and Chairman of Itsekiri Interest Group, Comrade Gbubemi Awala.

Whilst resolving to throw its full weight and mobilize all Itsekiris in Warri South, Warri North, Warri South-West, Ethiope West, Sapele and Uvwie Local Government Areas for any political party that field an Itsekiri indigene as Deputy Governorship and Senatorial Candidates in the 2023 general elections, IPAF demanded, “political inclusiveness of Itsekiris in Uvwie, Sapele and Ethiope West Local Government Areas in Delta Central”.

The communique signed by the Chairman and Secretary of Itsekiri Political Advancement Front, IPAF, Comrade Dennis Mene and Comrade Tuoyo Omagbitse Blessing, respectively, called on all Itsekiris, home and abroad to participate in the politics of the state, to guide against unpatriotic and selfish elements.

“We insist on the appointment of an Itsekiri indigene as the next Managing Director or Chairman of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, as the highest producer of crude oil in Delta State and the second to Ijaw in terms of crude oil production in Nigeria. No Itsekiri has been appointed into the position of Managing Director or Chairman of NDDC, since the formation of the Commission. The highest position we have gotten is EDP, who was not allowed to complete his tenure and was replaced by an Urhobo man”, IPAF, noted.

Recall that the Itsekiri Political Advancement Front, IPAF, had in its meeting held Sunday September 12, 2021 at Ugbolokposo Old Town Hall in Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State, demanded that Ugbolokposo, an Itsekiri Community, be allowed to produce the next Chairman of Uvwie Local Government Area in Delta State, come 2024, “for equity and fairness”.
