Feeler reaching Fresh Angle International this morning, says three persons survived, while 12 persons are unaccounted for in the explosion that occurred yesterday at a Floating Production, Storage and Offloading Vessel by the name Trinity Spirit FPSO in Ugborodo (Escravos) offshore location, Warri South - West Local Government Area in Delta State.

 

A Source, who dropped the hint on condition of anonymity, told Fresh Angle International yesterday morning, Wednesday February 2, that a loud explosion was heard few minutes to 1:00am yesterday.

 

 

The Source, added that the vessel produces crude oil and it is situated around Meren, a North Field Oil Facility belonging to an indigenous multi national company (name withheld) in the Escravos (Ugborodo) area.

 

The explosion, allegedly caused serious fear among workers manning oil facilities close - by as they watched the raging fire helplessly.

 

"We will leverage on this to talk about the discrimination, deprivation and I'll treatment to the contract workers in the multinational, and National oil company, the hazard and risk on the job is for all workers, but it does not reflect in the pay and conditions of contract staff, it is only regular employees that are adequately rewarded", Our Source stated this morning, Thursday February 3.
