Chairmen, elders, youth chairmen and various stakeholders in the OML-150 Fields, say they reject and forbid the letter written by Chief Clement A Maleghemi (Director of Palace Administration) dated 21 January 2022, giving power and authority to the Monday Agbeyi led Forum, as such, “the purported inauguration is regarded as null and void”.

Fresh Angle International can report that the position of the chairmen and various stakeholders in the OML 150 Fields, was contained in a “Communique Issued At The End Of The Joint Meeting Of The Seven (7) Host Communities’ Chairmen, Elders, Youth Chairmen And Various Stakeholders In The Oml-150 Fields, On The Purported Inauguration And/Or Reconstitution Of The Oml-150 Communities’ Consultative Forum Leadership”.

The communique, made available to This Newspaper, Monday February 7, warned: “No company would be allowed to deal with the Monday Agbeyi led group, until we are granted audience”

Whilst noting the: “Inimical roles currently being played by the lyatsere, Chief Clement Maleghemi (the Palace Admin) Chief Billy Besigiwa, Chief Eyitemi Diden and Hon. Daniel Revenieju amongst others”, in the OML 150 Fields’ controversy, the Host Communities, averred: “There is no name as OML-150 Communities’ Development Trust, such is alien to the Chairmen and leadership of all the communities. Host Communities’ Development Trust, is yet to be set up in-line with provisions of the Petroleum Industry Act. Host Communities’ Trust, has its own criteria and it’s between the Communities and the Settlors. Therefore we condemn same in its entirety”.

The communique signed by the Trust Chairmen of Aja-Osolo, Omadino, Uwakeno, Ewekwara and Eworitsemogha/Jaluwa Communities, Messrs; Austin Ukutegbe, Edward Omagbemi, Fidelis Ete Orugboh, Benson Omagbemi and Austin Dottie, respectively, stated inter-alia: “The decision of the Palace to retain and/or rezone the OML-150 Forum Chairmanship position back to Ifiekporo Community is an act of oppression and deprivation of other Host Communities from their right due to selfish interest and hate.

“All the Communities Chairmen, Elders, Youth Chairmen, and Stakeholders must be in the know and have their input, before any amendments to the OML 150 Constitution can be valid, otherwise such Constitution/Amendment is regarded as null, void and of no effect on our communities or the OML-150 Forum

“All recommendations done by the Clare-Aja/self-acclaimed Olare-Ajas without due consultations with the various community leadership organs and having been masterminded by the Palace and Monday Agbeyi, should be vehemently rejected and disregarded

“From the beginning of the crisis, we have all been waiting and having great faith on the Olu to take fair decision on this matter, even when he was still in Idaniken, but he has not but probably decided to toe the line of our oppressors and if this act persist, then all Chairmen and members will be ready to sacrifice their time and if necessary their lives for justice and development of our communities in case the oppressors decided to go more violent and/or go hard on us, while we agitate for fairness

“This resolutions should be published in all relevant National Dailies and all the Companies in OML-150 Fields including Conoil Producing Limited, Luck Guard Security, Armeco, Hedo-Bec etc., should be duly copied. Any dealing with the Monday Agbeyi led group will be vehemently resisted since the Palace has made us to understand that it is only those who are violent that should be taken seriously.

“We deny that the Olu of Warri, His Majesty Ogiame Atuwatse III actually sat down and did inaugurate the Monday Agbeyi led Forum after several letters complaints sent to him and coup with the insults and disregards Monday Agbeyi had for the Palace, commencing from the time of Ogiame Atuwatse II of blessed memory, through to the time of the immediate past monarch, His Majesty Ogiame Ikenwoli of blessed memory.

“We also deny, that the like of Hon. Daniel Reyenieju, Chief Johnson Amatserunleghe (lyatsere), the Palace Admin amongst others could actually influence the decision of the Olu or debar the Olu from granting the parties fair hearing and thereby ceding the forum Chairmanship back to the same Ifiekporo Community, amongst 7 Host Communities in the Forum: We sincerely deny.

“We the Communities’ Chairmen, Elders and Youth leaders of the OML-150 fields, shall vehemently resist any form of hijack moves by any person or group of persons and/or any political giants or individuals to form the HOST COMMUNITIES’ TRUST vis-a-vis the PIA without due consultations and regards to the core leadership of the Communities.

“A copy of this resolution, should also be duly forwarded to the Palace for their perusal”.

The resolution copied the Executive Governor, Delta State, Delta State Commissioner for Oil and Gas, Chairman, Warri South Local Government Area, Head Logistic, CONOG; Idowu Ademola, CONOG Community Relations Manager, Richard Edegbai, Sector 1, Commander Army Barracks, Effurun; Col. Garuba Rabiu, CO 19 Battalion, Koko, Shina Olonade, Chief Oma Eyewuoma, the JTF Commander, Bayelsa State and Chief Brown Mene, among others.
