500 level Engineering Student, Ighomieyetan, to lead Itsekiri Students Worldwide for the next one year

 A 500 level Chemical Engineering student of Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Ugbomro in Uvwie Local Government of Delta State, Comrade Ernest Ighomieyetan, will lead Itsekiri Students Worldwide for the next one year (the 2021/2022 academic year) Fresh Angle International can authoritatively report.

 

This is consequent upon Comrade Ighomieyetan’s election as the new National President-elect of National Association of Itsekiri Students, NAIS.

Our Senior Correspondent reports that Comrade Ighomieyetan, was elected unopposed, during the NAIS National election held Friday February 11 at the Secretariat of National Association of Itsekiri Graduates, NAIG in Ugbori, Warri.

 

The election produced an eight-member executive.

 

A 300 level student of Economics Education from the prestigious University of Benin, Edo State, Eremosele Favour Omatseyin, polled 22 votes to emerge Vice President-elect, after defeating Rena Ukuejubola of School of Health Technology, Ufuoma Ughelli, who garnered 15 votes, out of 37 votes cast.

 

The Electoral Committee Chairman, ELECO, Comrade Ernest Vincent Jemine, commended other members of the ELECO and the students for their maturity in deciding who becomes their executive and urged members of the new exco-elect, to work with all students and move the Association to greater height.

While appreciating fellow students and comrades for their support toward his emergence, Comrade Ighomieyetan, promised to unite members of the association worldwide, make them more committed, engage students on monthly quiz, to improve their academic prowess and introduce Point of Sale, POS services within Warri, in order to generate revenue for the Association.

 

Comrade Ighomieyetan, listed other areas of focus by his administration, to include carrying out online campaign against cultism and ritual killings as well as advocate for more placement of I.T students of Itsekiri extraction, in companies operating in Warri kingdom.

 

He also pledged to improve the welfare of members of NAIS, revive and promote the socio-cultural heritage of Itsekiri amongst students of Itsekiri extraction, collaborate with companies and NGOs to organize conferences and seminars for them as well as ensure strong voice for Itsekiri students.

 

Comrade Ighomieyetan, promised to sustain the Back-to-School Campaign of NAIS, pay adequate attention to members’ complain and suggestions as well as birth an alumni of NAIS.

Other members of the newly elected eight-member NAIS National executive are: Comrade Anslem Sisanmi; Secretary (FUPRE) Comrade Ajaigba Raphael; Treasurer (PTI) Comrade Ogbe Michael; PRO (NOVENA University) Comrade Ologho Tuoyo; Financial Secretary (NOVENA University) Comrade Bemigho Etuwewe; Provost (DELSU) and Comrade Joy Oritsela; Welfare Officer (UNIBEN)

 

Comrade Esimaje Richard, Comrade Arueyingho Tserundede and Comrade Victor Ekengbuda, were among past Presidents and observers that witnessed the election.
