Ighonmieyetan inaugurated as 2021/2022 NAIS President, promises to attract needed support

500 level Chemical Engineering student of Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Ugbomro in Uvwie Local Government of Delta State, Comrade Ernest Ighomieyetan, was on Sunday February 20, inaugurated as the 2021/2022 National President of National Association of Itsekiri Students, NAIS, Worldwide.

 

Other members of the new NAIS National executive inaugurated are: Comrade Eremosele Favour Omatseyin (UNIBEN) Vice President, Comrade Anslem Sisanmi; Secretary (FUPRE) Comrade Ajaigba Raphael; Treasurer (PTI) Comrade Ogbe Michael; PRO (NOVENA University) Comrade Ologho Tuoyo; Financial Secretary (NOVENA University) Comrade Bemigho Etuwewe; Provost (DELSU) and Comrade Joy Oritsela; Welfare Officer (UNIBEN)

Recall that Comrade Ighomieyetan, was elected unopposed, during the NAIS National election held Friday February 11 at the Secretariat of National Association of Itsekiri Graduates, NAIG in Ugbori, Warri, Delta State.

 

Comrade Ighomieyetan, in his remarks shortly after the inauguration, promised to attract the needed attention to NAIS as well as focus more on how members of the association will be more self-reliant in the battle against the present economic challenges, just as he assured that his leadership will initiate the first NAIS enterprise in Warri.

 

"I want to assure us all, that as a family, we will rise together. Election season is over, now is the time for work.

 

"I urge us all to remain united in the hope for a better NAIS, as this is the core reason for my emergence. It is on this mandate that I stand here before you today and seek our collective will more than ever".

 

While appreciating fellow students and comrades for their support toward his emergence, Comrade Ighomieyetan, promised to unite members of the association worldwide, make them more committed, engage students on monthly quiz, to improve their academic prowess and introduce Point of Sale, POS services within Warri, in order to generate revenue for the Association.

 

Comrade Ighomieyetan commended the Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III, National Adviser of NAIS, Sir A.S Mene, members of National Association of Itsekiri Graduates, NAIG, the leadership of Itsekiri National Youths Council, INYC, members of Ugbajor Itsekiri USA, the executive of Itsekiri Regional Development Committee, IRDC, Itsekiri Trust Fund and other pro-Itsekiri associations for their support.

Our Senior Correspondent reports that Sir A.S. Mene, who performed the inauguration the new NAIS executive, charged students of Itsekiri extraction to take their studies seriously and remain good ambassadors of Itsekiri Nation.

 

Sir Mene, advised members of NAIS to be resolute in their academics, so as to distinguish themselves among their peers, saying Itsekiris are unique people and commands respect globally.

 

Dignitaries present during the inauguration, include; DSP Alu, representative of the Police Area  Command Warri,  Chief (Mrs.) Evelyn Gbagi, Matron of NAIS in FUPRE,  Mr. Desmond Temienor, Adviser, NAIS, FUPRE, Yuppy Inspector, Modern Itsekiri Security, members Of NAIG, members of ICI as well as Past National Presidents of NAIS.
