An unidentified armed robbery suspect, who was a member of a robbery gang that robbed residents of Plantation Hostel along Ogbe-Ofu quarters in Ogwashi-Uku, Delta State has died following bullet wounds inflicted on him by a police patrol team, Fresh Angle International has learnt.
The suspect died after him and members of his gang reportedly opened fire on the police patrol team and in the ensuing gun duel, he was fatally wounded, while other members of the gang escaped.
According to a Police statement released by the Police Public Relations Officer, Delta State Command, DSP Celestine Kalu, the injured criminal gave up the ghost on the way to the hospital.
The statement added that items recovered from the hoodlums include one locally made cut-to-size gun with one live and two expended cartridges.
