One time Secretary to Delta State Government and Senator representing Delta North at the National Assembly, Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa has defeated other aspirants to emerge Delta PDP governorship candidate in the 2015 polls.
Dr. Okowa who told newsmen at Asaba immediately the result was announced by Hon. Sunday S. Karemi that he “is truly very very happy and gives the glory to God” polled 406 votes to defeat Urhobo Progress Union and Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan’s last minute choice, Chief David Edevbie (299 votes) Former Speaker of Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Victor Ochei (185 votes) and High Chief Government Ekpemupolo’s alleged preferred choice, Hon. Ndudi Elumelu who scored a lowly 50 votes like most of the other pretenders.
