Court remands 18-year old thief in Delta


 

Warri Magistrate Court presided over by Magistrate S.O.S Yalaju (Mrs.) yesterday remanded one Blessing Onobereve till April 30,2015 for allegedly stealing four years old Hauwa Mustapha on December 1, 2014 from her mother, Amina Mustapha.

Blessing Onobereve was said to have committed the offence along with one other person still at large at the ever busy Huasa Quarters market area of Warri, Delta State but was caught in the act by some vigilant persons who swooped on her and immediately arrested her and took her to the "A" Division Police Station from where she was charged to court by the police authorities.

"That you Blessing at Hausa Quarters in the Warri Magisterial District did steal the said child and committed the stated offence".
Magistrate Yalaju ordered that the accused be remanded in Prison custody till April 30, 2015 pending the advised of the State Director of Public Prosecution.

A witness who pleaded anonymity told Fresh Angle International that the suspect is a habitual child thief and this must have been the fifth child so far stolen and sold by Blessing Onoberevo in the area and that she met her waterloo in the theft of Hauwa.
