The burial ceremony of late Pa. Francis Afegbua Inobeme, took place at his home town, Jattu-Uzairue, near Auchi in Edo State, on Saturday February 26, 2022, with a Funeral Mass at St. Philip Catholic Church.

The Mass, was celebrated by the fourth child of late Pa. Francis, Rev. (Fr.) Eugene Inobeme (Order of St. Augustine, OSA) as the Chief Celebrant, with other priests assisting.

Our Managing Editor reports that the first reading was taken from the book of Wisdom (4:7-15) while the second Bible reading was taken from the letter of St. Paul to the Romans (8:31-35; 37-39). 

The Gospel was read from the Holy Gospel, according to John (11:17-27).  At the prayer of the faithful, various prayers were said for the repose of the soul of Late Pa. Francis.

Vote of thanks by Rev. Fr. Eugene Inobeme (OSA) was given at the end of the Holy Mass, where he thanked those who came from far and near, to join him and his family to give their father a befitting burial.

At the end of the Mass, everyone moved to the grave site, where late Pa Francis was committed to mother earth.

Fresh Angle International, understands that Late Pa Francis, was born September 16, 1942. Upon completion of his primary and secondary education, he left Fugar, the present day Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo State, to Ibadan, where he was employed as Students’ Affair Officer of the University of Ibadan. He later proceeded to the same office at the University of Ife, now known as Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife.

After 20 years in the then Western Nigeria, precisely 1988, Pa Francis moved to Auchi Polytechnic, Auchi (now Federal Polytechnic, Auchi) in the Students’ Affair Department, due to his vast experience in the management of students’ affair. He reportedly retired eleven years afterwards.

Pa Francis, was a Christian and loving father. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Rita Inobeme, six children; Engr. Robert Inobeme, Mrs. Margaret Ikioda, Mrs. Flora Igiebor, Rev. (Fr.) Eugene Inobeme, Mrs. Augustina Ayemoba and Engr. Fidelis Inobeme, sons in- law, daughter in-law and many grandchildren.
