2022 International women’s Day: Emulate Gov. Bello’s style of leadership- Buba urges Govt. at all levels
Haija Fatima Kabir Buba

The Kogi State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Hajia Fatima Kabir Buba, has admonished  government at all levels to emulate the leadership style of her principal, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello.

Our Kogi State Correspondent, reports that Buba, in a statement on Tuesday March 8, to commemorate the 2022 International Women's day,  said Governor Bello has led by example and has surpass the 35 affirmative action for women on elective and appointive position.

The Commissioner, while describing Women as the pillar of any nation, eulogized the Women fold for their relentless effort in building a better society for all.

According to Buba, Women in Kogi State, Nigeria and the world in general have set a pace to strengthen international peace and ensure that the world witness stability against all odds.

The statement reads in part, "Women are longing to be free, no longer to be trapped in the shadows and forced to stay behind, but to occupy a parallel line in true equality. The theme of this year's International Women's Day " Gender Equality Today for a Sustainable **Tomorrow* " echoes the impulse of the first stanza of the women anthem and the urge it attracts in the heart of women in the fight for Gender Equality.

"It is worthy of note that to achieve gender equality, there is institutional need to mainstream gender issues into all developmental programs and policies at all levels! This is a clarion call on all women for a collaborative and collective efforts to achieve the affirmative action of the Beijing Conference.

"It is equally important to note that, the global theme for the year IWD #Break the Bias# is apt, particularly in the light of last week's Constitutional Amendment votes against Women Even Representation at the National Assembly! The Lawmakers overtly stressed that "there are many hurdles women need to cross' therefore, we must put aside our differences if we must cross the hurdles.

"The goal behind International women's day celebration is to spread the message of gender equality, celebrate the achievements and contributions of women in different spheres and works towards building a society free of all gender biases, stereotypes, gender parity and discrimination.

"The general election is by the corner, women should be reminded of how critical they are to Electoral Processes! We are advised to join political parties of choice, get the Voters Cards to enable us exercise our franchise by voting women of purpose to power! Remember the slogan " Your Vote is your Power.

"I want to thank his Excellency Alh Yahaya Adoza Bello, the Executive Governor of Kogi State, our Gender Ambassador who has surpassed the 35%  affirmative action in all ramifications of women development. Your dream shall come true sir".
