A group committed to the Delta South Senatorial ambition of former NIMASA Director General, Barr. Temisan Omatseye, Delta Coalition For Change, DCC have told the National leadership of All Progressives Congress, APC that Chairman Electoral Committee of the party Senatorial primaries held December 8 at Oleh in Isoko South Local Government Area, Barr. C.M. Ashibogwu, Secretary of the Committee, Lucky Demide, party chieftains such as Senator Francis Okpozo and Chief Frank Kokori as well as the DPO of Oleh division can attest to the victory of Barr. Temisan Omatseye, thus making him the authentic candidate.
The position of DCC was made known yesterday at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja when they staged a peaceful protest against the alleged substitution of Barr. Omatseye’s name with that of a former Chevron Management staff, Prince Yemi Emiko.
According to President of Delta Coalition For Change, DCC, Comrade Young Piero, the National Working Committee of the APC“have sat over the matter and declared Barr. Temisan Omatseye the winner of the December 8, 2014 primary and even the Chairman, Electoral Committee, Barr. C.M. Ashibogwu, Secretary of the committee, Lucky Demide, Chief Francis Okpozo, Chief Frank Kokori, the SAS and the DPO of Oleh Division, all signed that it was free and fair”.
The group called on the National Chairman APC, Chief John Odigie Oyegun and the leadership of the party to immediately declare Barr. Temisan Omatseye the party’s Delta South Senatorial candidate for the forthcoming 2015 polls.
The National Deputy Treasurer of the APC, Hon. Abubakar Lado Suleja who addressed the placard carrying protesters, promised that the party leadership will address the issue, stressing that the APC is not like the ruling PDP.
Hon. Suleja who claimed to be getting first hand information on the controversy surrounding the Delta South Senatorial primary of the party, described the purported candidacy of Prince Yemi Emiko as a rumour and urged members of DCC to remain faithful to APC.
Our Senior Correspondent reports that members of DCC who besieged the APC Secretariat in the early hours of yesterday carried placards with inscriptions such as “No Temisan Omatseye, No APC in Delta State”, “Oyegun return our Mandate”, “we say no to injustice, National don’t impose candidate on us”, and “Temisan Omatseye is the change we need”.
