How five armed robbers boarded same bus with us from Lagos, took over from the driver in Delta-Passengers reveal


Passengers in a transport luxurious bus coming from Lagos on December 28 have told Police in Delta State how five armed men unknowingly boarded the same bus as passengers and on getting to Umunede in Delta State, the robbers bailed up the driver and took over the bus, started robbing them until the Police came to their rescue to stop the operation.

According to a Police Statement released by Police Public Relations Officer, Delta State Command, DSP Celestina Kalu, at about 1700hrs on the said date, Dragon Patrol Team 21 while on patrol received information that a transport luxurious bus was sighted along Ibusa/Ogwashi-Uku road entering into a lonely track road.

The Police team reportedly suspected the movement and traced the vehicle, on sighting the police patrol team, the hoodlums jumped down from the bus and escaped into a nearby bush. The driver of the vehicle and the passengers were rescued and taken to Ibusa Police station where they narrated their experience.

Meanwhile, Police patrol team from Area Commander’s Office in Warri ran into armed robbers operating in a tricycle along Warri/Sapele road and chased the hoodlums who later abandoned the said tricycle and fled.

Report says the Police men searched the tricycle and recovered one locally made single barrel gun.

In another development, operatives of Special Anti-Kidnapping Squad at Obiaruku Annexe on Christmas day arrested one 23-year old Chukwumun Okolo, 22-year old Okoroma Friday and one 21-year old Ejimaru Lucky.

The Police Squad found one locally made cut-to-size pistol, two live cartridges and a knife in a bag belonging to the suspects.

In the same vein, Police Patrol team from Enerhen Division on stop and search along Effurun/Sapele road by Urhobo College have arrested one Daniel Omire of Udu road along with three others who claimed to be passengers in a tricycle and items allegedly recovered from him include one locally made single barrel gun with two live cartridges.
